A new book...

Bug assembled this book the other day and wrote a summary on the back. I don't know if she'll get around to writing the actual story, but it sounds good!

Strange creature.

We decided to enjoy the beautiful weather that we're having and took a walk through the marsh. We spotted this creature out there....

The Reader

We had really great weather here today, considering that it's February in Wisconsin. Bug spent most of the day outside, playing with friends. She even rode her bike a bit. She was complaining later that her feet & legs were sore. She settled into bed to read fairly early in the evening. She didn't fall asleep early, like I imagined she would, but this was what I saw when I went in her room to let her know that she should turn her light off. She didn't even lose her page. I was nice enough to find a bookmark. I took the photo because I'm pretty sure that in the morning she'll deny that it happened. :)

Skiing for the first time

Bug went skiing for the first time with her Girl Scout troop. She was SO excited. She had a good time, though she was frustrated that it was harder than she thought and she couldn't do what she wanted.

In this first photo, she's waiting in line to get her skis.

 Waiting outside for the instructor.

This is shortly before we headed home. She had moved on to the bunny hill, but after eating, she & a friend decided to warm up here again, first.

The Art of Silliness

Look over there <------ See that drawing that says "Silly 5"? If you click on it, you can get the info you need to join Bug & I in our latest adventure. We're taking a 3-week online class, "The Art of Silliness". It's very, very silly.

Owl art by Bug

Bug has been reading the Owls of Ga'Hoole books for a while and enjoys watching the movie, Legends of the Guardians. This has inspired her recent artwork.

According to Bug, this first drawing is inspired by the movie and shows some owls in St. Aggies.

Bug's dad & I love this drawing. Bug said that it shows the life cycle of and owl. I asked her to give me a description of each drawing. Here's what she said:

L-R
1. egg
2. hatchling
3. owlet about to "yarp" it's first pellet
4. young juvenile (Great-Horned)
5. young juvenile, flying - caught first prey
6. full-grown
7. dead

Bug got glasses!

Bug got glasses today. As you can see, she's very happy with them. I'll need to get another pic of them....you can't see the blue trim on them in this one.
