While in Washington last month, I picked up a book for Bug called Owl Puke. It came with a bone-sorting tray and one owl pellet. Bug read the book and read some other books about owls. We finally got around to dissecting the pellet today. We'll clean the bones up and work on identifying them on another day.
She was so excited. She wasn't quite sure what to expect.
I was a little surprised that she was ok with holding it.
Hard at work and very focused. She had spotted a small bone and was trying to get it loose.
Success!!! (though it's too small to see in this photo)

COOL! I did that owl pellet thing once and I know what to expect. Yet I think it is gross and I will never do it again!
