Once upon a Christmas cheery....

Woohoo!!! We just got our tickets for the 40th annual Christmas lecture in Madison. http://www.scifun.org/xmaslect/Xmascheery2009soldout.htmWe saw this on PBS 2 years ago and it was so fun. We forgot about it last year and almost missed it this year. I mailed a request form last Friday and received the tickets today. We even got our first choice for day & time. Yay.

A grand day out.

Fellow homeschoolers from back home visited us today. The weather was pretty good, so we went to everyone's favorite park. Here the girls are working on balance & cooperation...or maybe the two on the ends are trying to knock the middle one off. It's hard to say.

After a delicious lunch at our favorite Chinese buffet, we went to the Children's Museum. Everyone had fun playing NEOS!

The kid-sized Kwik Trip was a big hit.

Iwas informed that this bottle STILL SMELLED LIKE MUSTARD. How cool is that?! LOL
Bug has to play with this every time we visit.

This is me.

Eruption!

Bug has been studying volcanoes. We made this on a week or so ago, but it's been so cold and/or rainy that we weren't able to make it erupt until today. Bug was quite excited.

Step 1: 1 tablespoon of baking soda.

Step 2: A few drops of red food coloring.

Step 3: Pour some vinegar into the top...and hold your nose because of the smell!

Step 4: Lava!

She was pretty pleased with the whole thing.

Of course, she needed to get a shot of her WITH the volcano.

Jabberwocky

After hearing this on a CD, Bug decided that she should memorize it. Enjoy.
